2011 MIGHTY BIKES SCHEDULE Click here for printable schedule. Out of Town Rides (1) Special Event (2) Race (5)
WHITE -- a regularly scheduled Mighty Bikes night. RED -- RACE! Races are optional; some kids like to race and others don't. The stronger kids can do the adult course which is a longer loop(s) with technical challenges. Little kids would enjoy the Mighty Bikes race, a short easy loop, often with participation prizes at the end. Kids participating in the Mighty Bikes race will go on a fun ride afterward until 8:30 p.m. Kids participating in the adult race are done for the evening after their races are over. Race registration closes promptly at 6:45! BLUE -- Special event! The Bike-O is an orienteering fun ride, like a scavenger hunt for treats. The carnival is our last night of Mighty Bikes for the season; activities may vary. YELLOW-- weekend ride out of town. Rides are rated for difficulty: 1--flat, bike path-type; 2--going to require some effort, but generally easy; 3--moderate difficulty, some technical riding, easy single track; 4--minimum 4 hr. ride, single track, climbing, tricky descents, cow parsnip, moderately difficult to difficult; 5--minimum 6 hr. ride, technical single track, extended climbs, tricky descents, cow parsnip, difficult to very difficult. (A note for single track on the Kenai Peninsula: kids must have a trail-worthy mountain bike with 26" wheels, be a minimum of 9 years old and a strong rider) See gear list below.
